Till we Have Faces 1-Evan Shively

Till we have Faces is definitely my favorite reading for the class. Upon hearing the premise of a retelling of a Greek myth I wasn't to excited, i didn't think it would transfer well into my more modern viewpoints towards the world. However, this book completely surprised me. The idea of the unwanted princess finding love in the raising of the King's unwanted child. The relationship between her and her sister Redival. The mysterious presentation of the God's, the philosophical discussion presented by the Fox. Every part of this book was above expectation. What drew me in the most was how timeless the emotions presented by the characters were, it was incredibly easy to relate to all the feelings and turmoils going on within the characters. I also felt that much of the novel had hidden characteristics of Lewis in it. Like I brought up in class the veiling and idea of love as well as the character Orual questioning God were I feel direct insertions of Lewis into the novel.
