Jacqueline Thornley- Space Trilogy #1

I’m not usually a fan of science fiction, but the Space Trilogy was a pretty enjoyable read. I always find it interesting however (including in the Space Trilogy) how the aliens/martians/foreign life forms always have anthropomorphic qualities. I think as humans we can only relate to what we know of life. But if there is other life somewhere out there who is to say that they would be able to speak, or that they would even be individuals? What if they didn’t experience the same five senses humans and animals do? I find it interesting that we also tend to assume that if there is other life in the universe that it must be intelligent and must have knowledge of the earth, as if humanity was the center of the universe. Who is to say that we’re not just like ants on an ant farm, or even less than that?
