Sean Dorsey – Any topic 2 - The Screwtape Letters

It is an understatement to say the this book is written from an interesting perspective. And it took a while for me to become accustomed to reading ‘The Enemy’ as God. In any case, it’s interesting the Screwtape quite often seems to praise God more than anything, though perhaps his positive comments are negative in his (its?) eyes. It certainly was a subtly harrowing experience to read this, as well. I found myself not wanting to read it at night more than most horror stories I read, and I can definitely understand why, by his own account, Lewis had trouble writing it or at least writing it for too long. I can imagine that it’s very uncomfortable to try and write in a diabolical tone if one believes in the creatures themselves. It is definitely worth studying, though, and it’s a great way to get a most likely pretty accurate ‘insiders look’ into the minds of fiends.
