Rachel Goodwyn - Till We Have Faces Assignment 3

Orual you do not understand the difference between what you think you know and what you really know. You have brought a grave complaint against us and we will return with a rebuttal to such accusations. Not only do you accuse us of conspiring against you, but you don’t realize that you deceive yourself into believing what you perceive as the truth. The truth you hold is not really the truth at all and to come here with these complaints, all of which are at the root because of your own actions is unacceptable and dishonoring to us. You are not the victim in all of these tragedies, but the perpetrator and today you will be held accountable for the things you see as the fault of us, the gods. Your younger sister, Psyche, whom you believe you selflessly love is victim of your jealous and envious love. Can you be so blind as to not see the destructiveness of this thing that you call love, the way it consumes the lives of those around you? Of course you cannot, you are too busy accusing other so of faults that are your own. The motives behind your actions are not love at all, you have come here to pass judgment on us, but we shall be the ones who pass judgment on you. You have refused to learn anything or to accept any correction offered and refused to accept the truth of the words spoken by the priest in Essur. What else can we do, you will have to live out the remainder of your days until your story(myth) has come to its end. You must learn from your mistakes, we have offered aid before and you have refused, so now we offer judgment and wrath in its place. At the end of your days, should we believe you have learned from your mistakes we shall allow the reuniting of you and your sister Psyche, but you must not forget the consequences caused by our own actions and not blame others for the mistakes you make. You must never bring such blasphemous accusations before us again.
