Space Triology 1-Evan Shively

I learned a lot from today's discussion of the space trilogy specifically the quote on Evil getting more evil and good getting more good. it was certainly interesting to be reminded of the historical context in which Lewis was writing in. The idea of being present during both world wars and still being able to look for the good is amazing. The faith that Lewis has in humanity despite the evil he witnessed is really inspiring. I constantly struggle with reconcile the evil of the world with the idea of a loving creator or being. It is quite clear to see the large amount of good present in the deep love and kindness show by others, a prime example being the idea of forgiveness, specifically in South Africa. It is also very easy to see the numerous amount of evil, present in genocides both past and present and even in day to day things such as finical fraud, people who are willing to abuse others for monetary reward. I tried to get a discussion of this going in class unfortunately it didn't really go anywhere.
