Zach Wilson--Till We Have Faces 2

The disconnect between the natural and supernatural is a topic which is pervasive throughout this novel.  Psyche lives in a castle which is probably visible within the supernatural realm, as Orual cannot see it but for perhaps a moment.  Psyche is also commanded to not look at Cupid in the marriage bed.  This is something which clearly illustrates the separation between the gods and man.  It is almost an existential question of whether man is made up of different stuff than the gods.  The four loves are also pervasive in this novel, and Eros is the one which links the gods and man.  There is both good Eros and bad Eros.  The bad Eros is the lust for knowledge which corrupts Psyche and causes the relationship between Psyche and Cupid to fail.  This bad Eros attempts to bridge the unbridgeable gap between the gods and man.
