Sean Dorsey – C.S. Lewis Entry - Lewis’ Writing
Reading C.S. Lewis' opinion on fantasy writing and then actually reading his fantasy really shows how much he believed in his opinions. I’m mostly talking about the general feeling I got after reading his ‘On Stories’ and ‘Myth Became Fact’ selections and then comparing the sentiments he expressed in those to the way he writes stories. I know for a fact that there is at least some truth to his belief that stories reveal some truth about our / my most basic nature, the story of ‘Till We Have Faces’ has changed me and I would also argue that it was a soothing experience for my own state of mind. I disagree that this is limited only to stories, however. I think works of art can also have this same effect, and music as well. What are some other things that resonate with the human ‘spirit’ or ‘essence’?
