Outside Reading 5-Evan Shively

Girl with the Dragon Tattoo

A recent film I saw that I also read the book for was the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. I watched all three of the Swedish films on netflix and they were all quite impressive. It did an amazing job in transferring the book into a film. Like we discussed in class often times when making a book into a movie a lot is destroyed and lost. This is especially true in my opinion of the harry potter series. The mythical world of magic created in the book gets destroyed by the uncreative world in the movie. However, this was not true of the Girl with the dragon tattoo, quite the opposite I think it brought the book to life. The actors were able to use the guidelines presented in the book to create their own unique personalities. It allowed me to relate to them even more then in the book.
