Anything! 1-Evan Shively

The Trial my thoughts on it

For my Radical evil class we put on a mock trial. The trial dealt with a cult who hunted down and killed women who got abortions. I decided to be one of the prosecution attorneys for the case.  My goal was to prove to myself that I did not want to ever be a lawyer. The trial was quite successful in doing that. I hate the way our legal system is set up in a competitive manner. It is not a system that seeks the truth but instead rewards wit and resources. It was upsetting to have to be an asshole the entire time as well. Trying to get witnesses to slip up by manipulating them did not feel good. Throughout the whole trial I had numerous other different thoughts and difficulties. It was difficult for me to separate the mock-ness of the trail and the fact that these kind of things happen in real life.
