Sean Dorsey – Perelandra - Purest Hatred Towards Evil

This entry is centered around Ransom’s epiphanies concerning hatred:

“The joy came from finding at last what hatred was made for” (p. 156)

“[It] was unlike nearly all other hatreds he had ever known, for it increased his strength” (p.157)

These description greatly fascinated me: I’m pretty sure I have never thought of hatred as a pure or completely righteous thing. Even when it is justified it seems like such an extreme that it should be avoided. Then of course, factoring in the possibility of true, absolute evil changes many such notions. As is said in the book, it is not only the true reason for hatred’s existence but it also justifies one’s use of it. What are some other emotions (or other parts of human nature) that are / would be radically changed by the existence of beings of either pure evil or pure good?
