Dimethyltryptomine
(DMT) is the most intense psychedelic substance as yet discovered in
nature. The cultures that have made use of this substance all have
incredibly rich 'Other' worlds, inhabited by all manner of spirits,
Gods, daemons, and elementals. The use of this substance induces a
very particular experience in the individual who partakes in it –
that they are transported in spirit to a separate reality – a world
as vibrant, rich, and real as this one, yet with fundamentally
different rules than our own. In these exotic locations all manner of
things are possible – indeed, word is said to condense into
physical object for some. It seems very likely to me that there is a
connection between this substance and the Other realms – the Land
of Fae being a familiar example. DMT is not simply some drug found n
the rainforest – it is a chemical compound which is naturally found
in most lifeforms on the planet, including ourselves. It is known
that certain diets can increase the chemicals which facilitate the
experience, and that so-called Schizophrenics have elevated levels of
DMT in their blood. Perhaps it is that in days long past, when DMT
were more actively produced in the body, there was a cross-over
between seemingly separate realities. Perhaps DMT is, as some
suggest, the Spirit Molecule at long last discovered...and made more
illegal than cocaine by our loving government.
